The requirements are more like that of a web browser, which can show the same UI regardless of the platform it runs on. It's kind of difficult to explain the resoning behind this solutions. It's not GPU bound but CPU because of custom logic in this application that uses a lot of custom UIViews.
Especially scrolling lists where this is apperently noticable and more jerky when build in relase mode with Visual Studio for pc. It's mainly UIKit performance that is noticable.
